Stirling Office Convert (still beta) has been upgraded. You can also now pick it as the converter in lots of other tools such as Email, HTML, Markdown and ebooks to PDF plus PDF to HTML/Markdown/XML/EPUB/AZW3, and PDF/A. Please compare it with the existing converter and let us know!
Our roadmap is to turn Office Convert on by default next week, and then, if no changes are required, fully remove LibreOffice and other dependencies the week after. So now is the best time to try it and report (And send example files) any conversions that don't look correct!
Other changes are:
* SSO auto-login now works even when username/password login is enabled (admins can still reach the password form via /login?all)
* JPDFium upgrade and support and Windows ARM64 support, This update also brings better redaction, merge/split improvements and lower memory on big files
* Faster and more accurate mobile scanning, with no more 9MB OpenCV bundled
* Faster requests with far fewer database reads and new entity caching
* Quieter startup and runtime logs
* Spring Boot, Docker base image and lots of other dependency updates
* Updated translations for all languages
We also fixed some bugs including
* Convert sending multiple or mixed file uploads to the wrong conversion
* Ebook settings resetting the selected output format
* "Include all recipients" not controlling CC/BCC in email to PDF
* PDF/UA font embedding making form fields no longer fillable
* Certificate signing rejecting unencrypted PKCS#8 PEM keys
* Viewer jumping away from your page after adding a bookmark
* Archive extraction being offered for non-zip files
This release also includes several security and stability improvements, so we advise users to update when possible!
Note: the old, deprecated backend PDF text editing API has been removed in favour of the new Text Editor. We are hoping to add a new Text Editor API soon!

Another good release!
The old multi-tool has been replaced by a completely redesigned Page Editor. It now resupports images, renaming files, and a bunch of QOL UI changes making it much easier to rearrange and manage your documents. Please let us know what you think and if you have any issues with it!
Some big changes in how we handle password-protected PDF, They can now be opened for viewing and used with common tools without having to remove the password first, and your existing PDF permission settings are kept when unlocking.
Other changes are:
* Stirling Sign now emails participants and requesters as a signing request progresses
* Drop files anywhere on the workbench, plus a redesigned add-files button
* Compression now tells you when it could not shrink a file
* Tidied booklet imposition UI with guide diagrams
* Optional redirectBaseUrl for OAuth2 and SAML when running behind reverse proxies
* Faster startup and lower memory use in the viewer and text editor
* Refreshed icons and chat UI improvements

Some big changes in this release yet again!
Group signing (Called Stirling Sign) is moving out of alpha and is now being enabled by default for new users, with it, you can share, track, and sign PDFs across your org. It also comes with a brand new sign UI, drastically improving the user experience of signing. Please let us know if you have any issues with it!
We are also shipping a new embedded conversion tool called "Stirling Office Convert" which we are trialing, It aims to give better conversion results faster and with less memory. This is a beta, so please compare and let us know! (Enable it by default under Advanced > Feature Flags)
We have a ton of other features in this release:
* Text editor supports editing tables directly in file!
* Text editor supports editing OCRed image PDFs!
* Text editor UI and UX improvements
* Attachments Support improvements (Add, rename, extract, delete etc)

Stirling PDF V3.0 is live!
With this update we are introducing a lot of exciting new changes, A brand new automation system, Free OAuth SSO for all, brand new text editor and a ton of new features, bug fixes and security fixes
We have a new system along side the "PDF Editor" called the "PDF Processor"
The PDF Processor takes the tools you already use in Stirling PDF and lets you run them across a large numbers of files with a variety of sources (Folders/FTP/S3 etc)
The idea is, If you need to OCR 10,000 files, Compress a whole folder or convert a whole document library this should be a tool which can help with that and allow it to listen and run for future files as they arrive
This is the first major release of Processor and we will be improving it quickly based on how people use it.

AI is also available as an optional part of Processor.
You can use AI to understand documents, classify them, extract information, and help automate processing. AI is fully optional (and off by default) and can use various models including locally/self-hosted models depending on your setup.
Automation now includes 1,000 PDFs per month free.
This allowance applies to automated processing through Processor, API, and AI features.
Linking your server to stirling.com gives you an additional 500 PDFs per month and access to our hosted AI (If you dont want to host your own).
Normal PDF Editor usage remains free and unlimited. In addition, we are also making OAuth SSO free for all users.
V3.0 also includes major improvements to the PDF Editor side of things:

Hotfix release for lots of bug fixes,
(Note we have identified some issues for mac users and hope to have another fix out in next few days)
The list below is of the main bug fixes are:
Tool fixes
* fix merge split and other operations not working on Debian 12 and fedora 44
* Concurrent usage issues on certain tools like merge
* Automate issues for remove images fixed
* Large 2GB PDFs no longer crashes under set scenarios
